Toronto Mob around Brad and Angelina

Sep 20th, 2007 by brangelina

Brangelina News:

Last week at the Toronto International Film Festival there was another Brangelina mob scene … what a surprise. I didn’t talk about it then but after reading another Brangelina blog, I thought I would add to the conversation.

Here’s a recap from USA Today on last week’s scene after the Jesse James showing:

Jolie and Pitt were in a car together, en route from their screening to the private after-party. “The crowd was so thick anyway, from people downtown on a Saturday night. And then, they were spotted,” Lui says. “The crowd started to find out that it was Brad and Angelina. People who were driving down on other streets left their cars and ran to see them. Seven people jumped on their car.”

Pitt and Jolie’s vehicle tried to inch forward. “We saw all these people running. People were holding up their cellphones (to take photos). This woman appears out of nowhere, runs up with her child, and was pushing her child up against the (moving) car. The lady was like: ‘I want my baby to see Brad Pitt.’ ”

Through it all, “Brad was yelling at the driver to drive, Angelina looked like a woman completely paralyzed. You could read her lips, and she kept saying, ‘Get back to the hotel.’ ”

Later in the article, Brad talks about the obsession:

“I understand the deal. It got chaotic last night, but there was genuine happiness, and it meant something to them. It only bothers me when they get in the kids’ faces.”

“It’s impossible for us,” he says. “We’re run out of every major city. There’s just too many paparazzi. There’s always cameras in the kids’ faces, yelling their names. Angie gets out of the car, and they take the camera down to the curb and shoot up (her skirt). It’s unbelievable.” That’s why “there’s a constant negotiation in how to survive and how to maintain a family life.”

Its unfortunate what the children have to face growing up but it’s much better than what they would have faced without being adopted.

I think history has shown that kids don’t inherit their parent’s fame by default. I don’t believe the mob will follow Mad, Z, Shiloh, and Pax around simply based on Brangelina hysteria. Sure, they’ll always have some fame but they’ll each have to earn the attention if they want real fame. At least when they grow up, they’ll have the option to simply walk away from the limelight. It is way too late for Brad and Angelina, though. They will be sought out for the rest of their lives. Of course, there will be a peak followed by a decline but Brad and Angelina will never be far from our minds. Their character and good works will sustain them at a Princess Diana level. Let’s just pray, they’ll always have a safe chauffer.

It is so unfortunate that the kids get caught up in the frenzy but Brangelina are hands on parents so they should be able to drop their kids off to school, go get an ice cream without having to let the nanny do it. I don’t understand the paps at all.. they have telephoto lenses and yet somehow, they fell the need to be two feet away from the celebrity they are taking a picture of. It is crazy.
But you’re right, having flashing light bulbs in your face is better than the life they would have faced if they weren’t adopted.
