Now that she’s safely out of there …

I’ll post about Angelina Jolie’s latest UN trip. This is straight from the UNHCR website:
UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie on Wednesday concluded her first visit to Iraq and Syria, where she heard tales of extraordinary resilience and courage from Iraqi refugees.(Read complete article by Kitty McKinsey at UNHCR.ORG)Wanting to learn first-hand about the plight of more than 4 million people uprooted by the conflict in Iraq, Jolie visited a UNHCR registration centre in Damascus on Monday and later spent hours hearing moving stories from refugees in their homes. Some had fled kidnapping and murder attempts and are now struggling to make ends meet and recover some hope for the future.
The article is a great read. Angie absorbed a lot of heart breaking stories over the last couple of days. One source said her flight over was sleepless. I wonder if she was able to sleep coming home after that experience.
Just think what her past week has been like. She ended filming Wanted in Chicago. She hooks up with Brad back in New Orleans where he’s promoting his really cool environmentally friendly and energy efficient housing project. The Jolie-Pitts then hit the Big Apple for some fun family time as well as a charity dinner in the Hamptons via helicopter. After all that opulence, she lands in Syria/Iraq and gets a serious slap of the reality of the rest of the world. Now, she’s coming home … back to the opulence. I’ve visited the 3rd world before and bet I know what she’s feeling right now. When you get home, you usually have a guilt and disgust of the wealth around you … then, it wears off as you slip back into normal life.
It’s really good that Brad and Angelina keep going to these kinds of places not only to remind the world but also to remind themselves.
Looking for a cheap hotel motel is not that easy at times. This is why hotel reservations should be made well before time. usually hotel are booked to brim in vacations seasons. This is why one often misses their choice hotels. However, booking in time may get you the best america hotels.
