The Future
May 8th, 2007 by brangelina
FoxNews.com has an interesting article about Angelina today. Here’s a snippet:
Angelina Jolie was just named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential Americans, not for acting but for her world politics.
All of this does create a plausible question about her: With Time citing her for activism, what is her future in Hollywood? Will audiences still accept her as a fictional character and not a lightning rod for discussion about obsessive adoption and child welfare?
I say that she will most definitely have a future in Hollywood! The acting careers of many stars do get hurt when they become ‘cause’ oriented. The two generally are in conflict with each other. I believe, though, that Angelina has the opportunity to keep both fires burning strong.
It’s easy to walk away from Hollywood when you get inspired by a great cause. Brad and Angelina could easily do that. If one chooses that direction, over time, you lose some of the star power that you bring to your cause. People get tired of seeing your activism and loose interest … but, if you feed the masses with movie candy stroking your ‘vain fame’, that will actually be more beneficial for your cause. The trick is in keeping the balance. When they’re sitting in the theater, you want people to think of you as the Hollywood star. When they leave, you want them to remember you as the good humanitarian. Tipping the image too far in either direction, I feel, would hinder Angelina’s world orphan cause.
BTW, Angelina not only made Time’s Top 100 (in the Power Givers category) but she also landed at #15 in the people’s choice while Brad came in at #19 (Thanks for voting !)
... that’s funny, ... I don’t see Jennifer Aniston’s name in either poll.4 Responses to “The Future”

i don’t think this thing has anything to do with jennifer aniston
can you explain the connection?
It was a ‘by the way’ comment at the end of the post. A long time ago, there were many Brangelina haters visiting this site spouting how great Jennifer was and how evil Angelina (and Brad) were. I was showing what appears to be the broad public opinion now about the old love triangle. Not only Time magazine but also the readers now don’t see Jen and being too influential.
ANGELINA IS A LOT MORE THAN JUST A PRETTY FACE.
SHE’S BEAUTIFUL AND NOT AFRAID TO GET DOWN AND DIRTY.—PUTTING HERSELF OUT THERE IN THOSE POOR, POOR COUNTRIES AND INCLUDING TRAVELING TO RISKY COUNTRIES TAKES A LOT OF GUT.
SHE LIKES CHILDREN TOO. SHE MAKES BRAD REALLY HAPPY. SO HAPPY FOR THEM! HE FINDS HER SEXY IN WAYS HE DIDN’T JENNIFER
brangelina is correct, a lot of people who are so bitter with hatred against Brad/Angie make Angelina out to be this vile, evil human being. And people were painting Jen as this wonderful, innocent victim. When they don’t know any of the parties involved. And the sick thing is some of those people are still as obsessed with the downfall of Brangelina. But because its not happening they are getting angrier. I feel its twisted that Angie is being criticized yet there are a buinch of DUI’ers and coke snorters polluting Hollywood with their arrogance and the tabloids/news media do favorable stories about them to show sympathy. Our world is so twisted right now!
