While reading this, I thought: “A lot of comments are posted by a professional publicist of Angelina’s in responce to what people write”. But according to Gadfly, it’s the other way round? :) I am not convinced. Every time somebody criticises Angelina, they are told they are mentally or psychologically ill, or at least have no life. For example, somebody nicknamed Laura says: “try going out”. I’m sorry, why should I “try going out”? I am married and I am planning to keep it that way (even if that doesn’t fit your definition of “real people”). America always appeared to me as a country with good family values and I thought it was a good thing. But since Angelina employed the best publicist in the country to talk herself up in front of the nation, media praises a homewretcher to the skies as a result. That’s not good. I think World would be a better place if Angelina didn’t set an example in it. I vote for more decent people and more propper values.

Well, you sorry lot, I guess you do have to work double times to fight the barrage of well-wishers and onslought of Brangelina baby news. Why not make your own news and be original? I saw the Bravo show…one thing about Angie is that she doesn’t lie. She has always been up front about her past and her relationships. The reason she talks about her childhood, cutting and difficulties is to help others who are suffering. She is letting them know that they don’t have to suffer in silence. She also said during the interview that it was a destructive path for her and she found the help she needed. Her acting help her channel her emotions. Further, people who are suffering have to talk to someone so they can be helped. I am sorry about your situation but I want to encourage you to find help. (I am not trying to be facetious. This is a serious admission.)

Whether you hate her or not? I think you need to go back read what you said about Angie in your posts. Your comments are hateful. Angie is not the problem and you know it. It is about you.

i’ve seen this site for a total of 10 minutes and I’m disgusted.
How could any one of us judge whether someone’s childhood was healthy or ‘troubled’ without actually being there? There are too many abused men, women, and children whose abuse is discredited by some mark on their reputation: think of all the rape victims who are called whores, all the abused women whose husbands are prominent community figures, all the children who were told they were lying when they came forward about clergy abuse. We may doubt a story for various reasons, but if someone is obviously ‘troubled’, there might be a legitimate story behind it.
And to call someone ‘weird’ for suffering through self inflicted abuse! This is a serious psychological problem needing professional help, and whether it is a cry for attention or self-hate or even a desperate need to feel something, it’s nonetheless a real and very sad condition MANY people deal with. NOT WEIRD: SAD.
Finally, for those who say her publicity regarding her work in Africa is an attempt to be liked:
1. For the right or wrong reasons, anyone publicizing their good works ends up getting vitriolic hate mail, like what has been published above. There are obviously more effective ways to be popular, so I doubt this is her end-all goal.
2. Without regard to her motives, it is a fundamentally good thing to open hospitals and donate time and money to the extreme poor. Africa is largely overlooked by those in developed countries. Assuming for a second that she has the right motives, is there ANY way AJ could promote her work without appearing self-righteous? Or do you think she is being self-righteous simply by trying to get other people to care about Africa? I think becoming a UN Ambassador is maybe the most effective way to get people to care about the cause: Africa isn’t HER cause, it’s our global responsibility, which she is willing to promote.
Finally, why do we have to resort to such misogynistic terms like “slut”, “a real-life cocksucking whore, or “ugly bitch”? Why can’t we criticize her with nonabusive, factual evidence to support our positions? Are we really that uncivilized that we have to call the women we dislike such disgusting, irrelevant names? Oh, I’m sorry–it’s ok to call her a whore if you side with Jennifer….NO! People really don’t have a right to treat each other like such shit! No excuses!

What ….”she chose to pretend to be incestuous for attention”? Are you referring to the brotherly kiss she gave her brother and that was captured by the media. You know it is common practice in Europe to kiss friends and relatives on the lips….People have weird twisted minds to even think that the kiss was incestuous in anyway.

Personally, I don’t think her life was weird at all but you seemed to think so. As far as I am concerned it is not how you start but how you finish that determines your worth in life and she is worth more than most. So far, she is way ahead of the game….
Clearly, she is not a fan of yours but why come to her fans site to hate on her. You do realize no matter what you say the situation is not going to change. Her and Brad are in committed relationship for as long as it lasts….maybe forever. And now they have a beautiful baby that will connect them for life….

Angie talks about her good deeds because she works for the UNHCR….part of her jobs. She doesn’t talk about herself but about the lives of the impoverished people all over the world. No she doesn’t talk about it all the time the media does. They are fascinated with her, not only for her looks and her good deeds because of her relationships. Oprah, Bill Gates and Bono give of their times and money, and they also brag about it. Do you have a problem with them talking about it also? Regardless, I don’t see the problem of them talking about their good deeds if it is going to bring awareness to the world.

Why do you expect every celebrity to “help” people? Who cares if Paris Hilton didn’t improve the lives of her fellow human beings…It’s not her responsibility. Why would she even have to? It’s not her duity to. She can do whatever she wants. Shopping and posing for cameras does not mean she’s a media whore. So now people can’t even SHOP any more because they’ll be critisised? Okay, so Paris Hilton is spoiled but who the fuck cares? If she has the money then why not? And also who the fuck cares about Angelina Jolie “helping” people. That’s her business and she should keep it to herself. And don’t feed me with the bullshit saying that it’s not Angelina Jolie’s fault that everyone knows about her being charitable. Yeah, so the paparazzi follows her, the journalists stalk her, etc but SHE also talks about it ALL THE TIME. Every interview she has had, She bragged about what a good person she is. There are ways to keep things secret. How do you think all the other celebrities who are in fact more charitable than Angelina and actually give a damn and don’t just want attention hide this? It’s possible.
